Manu Bhaker had a remarkable performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, securing two bronze medals. She made history by becoming the first Indian woman shooter to win a medal in the Olympics and the first Indian woman to win two medals at a single Olympic Games since India’s independence.
Bhaker won her first bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event with a score of 221.7, ending India’s 12-year drought for an Olympic shooting medal. She then teamed up with Sarabjot Singh to claim another bronze in the mixed 10m air pistol team event.
Her achievements in Paris are a significant milestone for Indian shooting sports and highlight her resilience and determination following setbacks at previous events, including a malfunction at the Tokyo Olympics.
